I too love this poem-I teach 7-8yr olds in Tipperary Ireland.it ties in so nicely with our geography & science lessons.I would welcome any other suggestions for poems for this age group,Margaret

I absolutely love this poem >my class of 8-9 year olds adored it .found it clever 7 easy to recite.Wish i could get my hands on more of ms. Fisher’s material .it really helped in my science lesson about our planet earth

I read this poem in the festival of music and speech, and won first place!
It’s a great poem.
I am going to read it again later this year to help raise money for this festival.

I love Aileen Fisher’s poems. My favorite is called “House” and in it, she pictures houses like faces. She is a special poet. She won the second award for Excellence in Poetry for Children in 1978.
