Barack Obama on Religion in Politics

Barack Obama’s keynote address at the Sojourners’ Pentecost 2006 is incredible (mp3).

The AP’s David Espo had a really strange take on it; here’s a better one by Amy Sullivan in Slate.

Another great speech of his: Energy Independence and the Safety of Our Planet.

Obama - a pretty face without substance.

During the Illinois senate race he stated there were more was to god than evangelical Christians allowed, which means he doesnt understand Christianity

Gary, that sort of sentiment cuts both ways—if evangelical Christians are going to brand people with different approaches to faith than theirs “The Others”, why should those in government pay attention to the concerns self-described evangelicals?

I encourage you to listen to or read the speech, it addresses a lot of issues along those lines.

America was formed on the basis of Christianity. I believe that anyone who will be running this country should believe in the same.

Obama is full of substance, if people would stop listening to the media and start listening to what he is actually saying. Check out http://www.barackobama.com

Hell of a street team Mr. Obama has. I’m tempted to make a few more posts about him just to see the predictable links to his site show up in the comments :p

Obama is no more a Christian than Osama! Check out his Muslim past and wonder way he denounces it.
