If I remember correctly she's stated in an interview that she chooses not to appear in ads because she feels it's sneaky and kind of cheats her fans. Also, Sid Vicious would be rolling in his grave to know that his image was being used to sell shoes. (Plus, he preferred boots)...Obviously converse doesn't have permission to use the images of these people. I typically wear converse everyday (and have since I was 15), but this advert. kind of frustrates me. Maybe I'll end up following Joan and switching to pro-keds.
