Well, yes?

The only way out of the muddle of such paradoxes is by assuming that the propositions are false: then no self-contradictions arise.

— Bryan Boyd, ‘Getting It All Wrong

Yes, but as always: that would be too easy.

Ja Rule on Groupies

First sensible thing this man has ever said.

I don’t even know the definition of groupie, you feel what I’m saying? Because to me that’s not a real thing. If someone loves you, has you know, a lot of respect for you, how it makes them feel, sometimes they show it in different ways. You understand? They’re excited to see you because they probably are never going to see you, and it’s their only time to see you. So they’re excited about that. You understand what I’m saying? I just, I don’t like to use the word groupie.

Bill Maher vs. Gore Vidal

Bill Maher: When I said you were the most interesting man in the world, I wasn’t kidding. Amelia Earhart once took you to a football game?
Gore Vidal: I took her, but anyway, yeah.
Bill Maher: Why… she couldn’t find her way back?
*Audience*: Ohhhhhhh
Bill Maher: Oh, look, how about that? I love that. It’s too soon for an Amelia Earhart joke.

Bill Maher: You’re a 10 year old kid [in a video clip], and you’re brash and belligerent. You’re like a young Norman Mailer.
Gore Vidal: Oh—who was that?

Bill Maher: Why does one society, like Rome, make no demarcation between homosexuality and heterosexuality, and our civilization is so different?
Gore Vidal: I don’t think they knew any difference.
Bill Maher: But I know a difference. I mean, it doesn’t strike me, ever, to have sex with a man. If I lived in Rome, would it?
Gore Vidal: Well, what part of town?
